The 2026 MCBA Home Show added our Touch A Truck event, an exciting event for children of all ages. Come experience the cool tools and machinery builders use every day. We hope your youths will be inspired.

The 2026 MCBA Home Show added our Dream House Challenge for aspiring young builders ages 9-16.

There are two age group categories Ages 9-12 and Ages 13-16. Each group’s participants will have opportunity to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Cash prizes will be awarded. 3rd place - $50. 2nd place $100. 1st place $250.

Judging will be based on the following criteria: Concept, design, execution, creativity, function, and materials.

Rules: All participants must pre-register their concept and contact information.

Overall maximum size of submission: 2’ by 2’ by 2’ and be able to be transported in one piece by one person.

Traditional building materials, model materials or creative finishes are the participants choice. No sharp edges or harmful materials allowed. Suggest but limited to rigid maters like balsa, cardboard, posterboard, lego, wood, popcycle sticks, foam, or other sheet products.

Please consider the weight of the finished model and the ease of transportation when designing and building your project.
